Frequently Asked Questions About
Hypnotherapy
What
is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally
occurring sate of concentration of the mind and body. It is a relaxed,
hyper-suggestible state in which a person experiences deep physical or
mental relaxation and the critical factor of the conscious mind is
bypassed or suspended. When this occurs, you have access to the deep
wisdom of the subconscious mind.
How does clinical hypnotherapy work?
Clinical Hypnotherapy works
with the subconscious mind, which you can think of as your own internal hard
drive. Your subconscious mind stores all of your memories, beliefs,
attitudes and programs for mental, emotional and behavioral response.
Through various methods (I generally use progressive relaxation), you
can gain access to the subconscious mind. It is through this connection
to the subconscious mind that you can experience greater awareness and
acceptance, connection with the body and emotions, and release
challenging patterns.
When you bring healing to a
problematic causal area, true transformation takes place. Light enters,
hope is realized, and a new experience of life begins.
What does the
hypnotherapy process look like?
The course and length of
therapy will be determined by the presenting issues, your own personal
goals, and level of motivation. Each hypnotherapy session lasts from
one and a half to two hours, depending upon what is being addressed.
There are some issues that
can be addressed and resolved in a few sessions, while other issues may
be more complex and take longer to address. While each client’s
experience is unique, generally, the typical course of treatment is 4-6 sessions.
During sessions you will
explore the patterns, experiences, thoughts and emotions that are most
prevalent in your life. You will deepen your awareness of how you are
being so as to understand how patterns have been created and sustained. You will be guided through various hypno-therapuetic process to remove subconscious blocks and you will be given tools to empower you as move towards your goals.
Healing occurs in layers.
Sometimes clients find that after initial goals have been achieved,
maintenance sessions are beneficial to either address new realizations
pertinent to the initial presenting issue, or work on new issues that
have surfaced.
The ultimate goal that I hold
for each client is to experience healing, expansion, and integration of
body, mind, spirit, and emotions that allows for the joyful and healthy
expression of the Self.
Will I lose control?
Through the whole process, you
will ALWAYS BE IN CONTROL. There is a saying that “all hypnosis is
self-hypnosis”. At the core of this statement is the truth that you
always have a choice as to how you choose to work with your own mind.
You will use your mind, in
conjunction with the wisdom your body and emotions, to heal from your past and
create the experience of today and tomorrow. That experience emerges
from within you, and it will be within you that you will find the
answers and avenues you seek. Therefore, YOU will always be in control
of the process of therapy.

What tools will be used in my hypnotherapy sessions?
Cellular
Release Therapy™
- Cellular Release Therapy is a
highly effective and thorough hypnotherapy technique that is used to
release accumulated programming, traumatic events, or patterns from the
body, mind, emotions, energy system, and soul. Due to the nature of the
protocol used for this process, the emotional charge, thinking
patterns, and beliefs that are created due to traumatic events, or
patterns of events, are cleared without having to re-experience the
trauma itself. This work is incredibly powerful and effective.
Core
Transformation – This work is based on the
idea that all patterns of thought, behavior, or emotion have positive
intentions for you. Even those patterns that you may consider
challenging such as depression, or anxiety, want something wonderful for
you! This work assists you in realizing the positive intention of
challenging patterns of thought, behavior or emotion, healing any trauma
or mis-perceptions that created them, and integrating them with the
Self.
Energy
Recall & Return - Addressing relationship
difficulties by releasing and returning any energy you have taken on
from another person or situation as well as recalling all of your own
energy, healing this energy, and integrating it back into your own body,
heart, soul, and energy system.
Inner Plane Communication - Communication with another
person’s higher self in order to work through trauma, conflict, creating
personal boundaries, etc..
Regression
Therapy (Including Past Life Regression Therapy) –
Moving through time to bring healing and change to key events or causal
areas of challenging patterns.
Remote
Work - A surrogate is used for this
work when it is not optimal to work directly with a client. Instances
for this work may include: a young child or someone who is unable to
attend a session due to physical or mental reasons. Permission is
always asked of the Higher Self for whom the work is being done.
Self-hypnosis - A self-guided hypnosis process that you will do at home to deepen the healing between sessions.
Spirit Releasement - Releasing any energies,
thought forms, fragments, or entities that are not a part of your own
energy system.
Visualization/Affirmation - Using your inner awareness to
“see, sense, hear, or feel” various situations or scenarios and then
expanding the possibility for your having the experience of a desired
outcome.
Is therapy confidential?
In
general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications
between a client and a psychotherapist. Information is not disclosed
without written permission. However, there are number of exceptions to
this rule. Exceptions include:
*
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. The therapist
is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities
immediately.
* If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s.
The therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
* If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will
make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety.
If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their
permission in order to ensure their safety.
